Christian conservatism

Christian conservatism is a blanket term covering a large number of Christian groups and philosophies. The movements are largely a response to Liberal Christianity. Some common beliefs among Christian Conservatism include biblical inerrancy, biblical infallibility, and belief in the Rapture. Christian conservatives believe that the Bible was dictated to church founders by God and should be interpreted literally, and as a result, reject higher criticism of the Bible, and believe in Biblical creationism, rejecting evolution.

Some conservative Christians are heavily involved in politics, particularly in the United States. The political movement associated with Christian conservatism is known as the Christian right. However, some conservative Christians are not involved in politics, and in the case of Jehova's Witnesses, actually forbid their members from any political activity.
